New Zealand produced a stunning turnaround at Eden Park, thrashing India by 87 runs in the fourth T20 international after losing the opening three matches of the series.
Glenn Phillips led the onslaught with a spectacular century, while Michael Bracewell blasted 65 from just 25 deliveries as the Black Caps piled on a national record 259 for seven. The pair hammered 16 sixes between them, leaving India’s bowlers helpless against the relentless assault.
New Zealand’s attack was equally impressive, with Jacob Duffy claiming two wickets in the opening over before captain Mitchell Santner tightened the screws with two quick dismissals. India never seriously threatened the mammoth target, despite some late resistance from their lower order.
The emphatic victory reduced India’s series lead to 3-1 and restored some pride for the hosts ahead of Sunday’s final T20 in Hamilton.
