Liverpool have beaten AFC Bournemouth 0-4 at the Vitality Stadium to go five points clear at the top of the Premiership table.
Liverpool have secured a dominant victory over AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, extending their lead in the Premier League to five points.
Despite challenging weather due to Storm Isha, Liverpool showcased their attacking prowess in the second half with two goals each from Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota, securing a deserved 4-0 win.
The first half was evenly matched with no significant opportunities created by either team. However, Liverpool took the lead shortly after halftime with Nunez scoring from Jota’s pass. Jota then scored twice, once after a setup by Nunez and again after regaining control of the ball. Nunez added a fourth goal in stoppage time, highlighting Liverpool’s strength even in the absence of Mohamed Salah, who was away for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Liverpool’s performance was notable for its depth, overcoming the absence of key players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson, and others. Midfielder Alexis Mac Allister had a particularly outstanding game.
Bournemouth, who had been in good form, hoped to challenge Liverpool but were clearly outclassed. Their striker Dominic Solanke, despite his season’s strong performance, had limited impact against Liverpool’s solid defense led by Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.
Bournemouth also suffered an injury setback with defender Max Aarons leaving the game, which their coach Andoni Iraola highlighted as a ‘significant loss’.
