The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has issued an urgent warning for the public to cease using weedkillers containing Dacthal or DCPA herbicides due to significant health concerns.
The alert follows an investigation launched after the herbicides were pulled from shelves in the United States. Dr. Shaun Presow, Hazardous Substances Reassessments Manager, highlighted serious concerns about the potential risks to unborn children, particularly regarding changes in thyroid hormones, which can lead to low birth weight and lifelong developmental impairments.
The EPA strongly advises against the use of these herbicides, especially around pregnant women, and urges the public to consider safer alternatives.
The alert stems from findings by the US Environmental Protection Agency, which revealed that exposure to chlorthal-dimethyl, the active ingredient in these herbicides, poses significant risks to the health of unborn children.
The EPA has responded by establishing a working group to assess the herbicide’s use in the country and to implement swift measures to protect public health. In the meantime, the EPA has issued a “red alert” to ensure the public is fully informed of the potential dangers and is consulting with stakeholders on potential new regulations for the use of DCPA herbicides.

Can’t be any worse than the fake vaccines
DCPA has been prohibited for use on crops in the European Union since 2009.
In New Zealand, it’s used particularly on weeds in onion crops,
Three products containing chlorthal-dimethyl as the active ingredient are registered under the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act (ACVM):
Dacthal
Deramot Xtra
Chlor-Back 75WG
We have set up a working group to review the current uses for chlorthal-dimethyl in New Zealand and take any actions to ensure we continue protecting people’s health and safety.

Wow, banned in the EU since 2009, now banned in the US (it has to be prov-enable really f***ing bad to be banned in the US) But we in NZ are going to look into it lol (Which means ‘we will check first’ with our donors)
Apparently the two most heavily sprayed vegetables are
Broccoli and cauliflower
Thanks for that info Anonymous 🙂 Thank goodness i don’t eat much broccoli or cauliflower unless i grow it – which I haven’t much
13 years ago the eu did the right thing but pressured people to take the worst jab ever go figure
What you can do
We advise people to stop using products containing chlorthal-dimethyl and consider alternative products.
Stop consuming Onions, Broccoli, Cauliflower,,,,,
Just don’t eat them raw. Wash them and boil them for at least 3mins
Poor advice. Many of these products are systemic. The plant or animal treated has to be given time to eliminate the chemical through normal metabolic processes. This is called the Withholding Period.
Meanwhile Roundup can be purchased at your local Bunnings store. Go figure!
