Led by Hideki Matsuyama and Sungjae Im, who equalled the competition’s largest victory by defeating Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele 7&6, the International side reversed the result from Thursday’s fourballs.
This session marked the first time the U.S. failed to win a single point since 2003. Key wins from Australia’s Adam Scott and Canada’s Taylor Pendrith, as well as Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes, helped fuel the turnaround.
Si Woo Kim and Byeong-Hun An’s clutch victory over world number one Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley solidified the Internationals’ momentum.
