A 50-year-old woman has been charged with murder following the discovery of a deceased man in Gate Pa, Tauranga, on Sunday morning.
Police were called to the area near St George Street at approximately 8:45 a.m. on October 6, where the body of a 63-year-old man was found.
The woman appeared in Tauranga District Court today and has been remanded in custody. She is set to reappear in Tauranga High Court on October 30. Both the victim and the accused have been granted name suppression.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area between the evening of October 3 and Sunday morning. Those with information are encouraged to contact police using reference number 241006/6224, or provide details anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 0800 555 111.
