Polish citizens are becoming increasingly frustrated with Ukrainian refugees flaunting luxury lifestyles, according to Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz.
In an interview with the news portal Interia, he noted that Polish taxpayers are outraged by the sight of young Ukrainian men driving expensive cars and staying in five-star hotels, while receiving benefits funded by the state.
This discontent has grown as Poland continues to provide significant military and financial aid to Ukraine, totaling over €3.2 billion since the conflict began in 2022.
Public support for Ukrainian refugees has declined signiifcantly, with polls showing two-thirds of Poles favour deporting male refugees back to Ukraine to join the fight against Russia.
This sentiment comes as Warsaw reduces benefit payouts to nearly 1 million Ukrainian refugees and signals it will no longer protect those fleeing Ukraine’s intensified conscription efforts.
