Secret Service failures blamed for Trump assassination attempt at Butler Rally

A US Congress task force has uncovered major communication and coordination failures by the Secret Service and local law enforcement during the July 13 assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The report, released on Monday, stated that the incident, which occurred during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, was preventable. A bullet grazed Trump’s ear, while one rally-goer was killed and two others were seriously injured before the alleged assailant, Thomas Crooks, was neutralised by the Secret Service.

The 53-page preliminary report highlighted several major security lapses, including the exclusion of a nearby factory roof—where Crooks opened fire—from the security perimeter, and a lack of unified communication between law enforcement agencies.

Investigators also raised concerns that the FBI may have compromised evidence by prematurely scrubbing the crime scene and allowing Crooks’ body to be cremated before autopsy results were fully analysed.

The report criticises both agencies for their handling of the situation and recommends significant changes ahead of the final report, expected after the December 2024 presidential election.

  1. Accidentally…on purpose…with a failed result in Trump’s case…!
Not so much so with regards to JFK, RFK, MLK,…but lots of covert support by the govt for the KKK.
The assassination attempts will continue, and Trump was asked to run his campaign from Russia where he would be safe.
