Leicester City have named former PSV Eindhoven boss Ruud van Nistelrooy as their new manager, signing him to a contract until June 2027.
The Dutchman succeeds Steve Cooper, who was dismissed after just 12 Premier League games in charge.
Van Nistelrooy’s appointment follows his recent stint as interim head coach at Manchester United, where he oversaw three wins and a draw, including victories against Leicester.
Van Nistelrooy praised the club’s culture and supporters, saying he was eager to contribute to Leicester’s success.
Currently sitting 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone, Leicester face a critical period.
First-team coach Ben Dawson will handle the team for their upcoming match at Brentford, with Van Nistelrooy set to take charge against West Ham on December 3.
Known for his managerial success at PSV Eindhoven, where he led the team to second in the Eredivisie, Van Nistelrooy aims to bring his experience and winning mentality to the Foxes.
