Manchester City slump continues with defeat to Juventus in Champions League

Manchester City’s struggles deepened as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Juventus, jeopardising their chances of reaching the Champions League knockout stage.

Second-half goals from Dusan Vlahovic and Weston McKennie capitalised on City’s lackluster performance, leaving them 22nd in the table with just two games remaining.

City must now face Paris Saint-Germain and Club Brugge in a bid to salvage their European campaign, with their hold on even a play-off spot precarious, just one point ahead of PSG in 25th.

Pep Guardiola’s side, plagued by inconsistency, has won only one of their last 10 games, a worrying trend as they prepare for the Manchester derby.

Despite dominating possession in the first half, City failed to create meaningful chances, with Erling Haaland’s saved effort being their only shot on target before halftime. Defensive lapses proved costly in the second half, with Josko Gvardiol’s mistake leading to Vlahovic’s opener, followed by McKennie doubling Juventus’ lead.

City’s inability to mount a comeback underscores their current lack of resilience, a stark contrast to previous seasons. With seven losses in their last 10 games, including disappointing domestic results, Guardiola faces mounting pressure to reverse the team’s alarming decline.
