Korean Air has been named Airline of the Year for 2025 by AirlineRatings.com, surpassing Qatar Airways.
The South Korean carrier’s commitment to passenger comfort, particularly its spacious economy seating, played a key role in securing the top spot.
Unlike many airlines that have reduced seat pitch and added extra seats per row, Korean Air has maintained its original seat configuration, prioritizing economy travellers.
Its merger with Asiana Airlines was also noted as a significant factor.
The rankings, based on safety, service, and value, also highlighted Air New Zealand and Cathay Pacific in the top four, while AirAsia was recognized as the best low-cost airline.
