A 32-year-old man accused of killing Nelson police officer Lyn Fleming has pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with reckless disregard for safety, and three charges of dangerous driving during his appearance in the High Court at Blenheim on Friday.
However, he admitted to two charges—driving while disqualified and driving with a blood alcohol level exceeding 80 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood. Justice Dale La Hood granted the continuation of his name suppression.
He was remanded in custody to a further court date.
It was dark and just a terrible accident.
He has continued name suppression for a reason. Probably to keep his past from the jury…
… a past which quite possibly involve the use of a motor vehicle as a weapon. And targeting the police.
This is a life long criminal who was stoned/drunk maybe both . He thought he’d be a big man and being a lifelong loser he killed someone .
The worst part is our weak judges will not give him a sentence that is deserving after he is found guilty.
Must be hard to be in the police force a deal with the useless sentencing that happens .
Police there to protect us and charge these idiots to watch the craziness from there.
