Halfback Luke Metcalf will once again lead the NZ Warriors as they face the Manly Sea Eagles at Go Media Stadium, with coach Andrew Webster sticking to the same line-up that struggled in their season-opener against the Raiders.
Despite a tough outing in Las Vegas, where his intercepted pass led to a game-changing try, Metcalf has the full backing of his coach, who urged him to “back himself” against Manly veteran Daly Cherry-Evans.
Webster remains confident in Metcalf’s potential, asking fans for patience as the young half finds his footing in the No.7 jersey following Shaun Johnson’s retirement. The Warriors’ starting squad remains unchanged, though Webster could make late positional tweaks as he did before the Canberra match.
Meanwhile, Manly has made one change, with Josh Aloiai replacing the injured Siosiua Taukeiaho in the front row.
If the warriors are going to do any good their forwards have to dominate other wise the halves will be totally restricted and they will get another hideing.
