Have you seen its speech? The beehive show where nobody has to show up is even on TV. Why do they get paid? They’re paid a salary to show up and do their jobs, yet attendance is treated like an optional extra. I’m all for ball and chain to make absconding parliamentarians stay for the parliamentary sessions.
Actually, ball and chain gangs made up of corrupt pollies would do wonders to their work ethic. Like, if you abuse your position as public servant, elected or unelected via the usual gravy-train, you can atone with the public in a chain gang. Lotsa gorse to be pulled and potholes to be fixed.
