The New Zealand Breakers claimed their second NBL win with a commanding 82-65 victory over the Tasmania JackJumpers at Spark Arena tonight.
After trailing early, the Breakers unleashed an 18-point run spanning quarter-time and never looked back, holding Tasmania scoreless for nearly six minutes in the second quarter.
Despite missing all 13 first-half three-point attempts, New Zealand’s relentless rebounding and defensive pressure created 25 extra shot opportunities. Parker Jackson-Cartwright led with 21 points and six assists, supported by Izaiah Brockington’s 17 points and Sam Mennenga’s 12.
The Breakers improved to 2-5, while Tasmania—led by Will Magnay’s double-double—fell to 4-3 after a cold shooting night.
