Pashion Akenihia Kumeroa Ramsay has been jailed after firing multiple shots into a family home while a mother was feeding her three-week-old baby, narrowly missing her, and committing widespread fraud to fund a meth addiction.
The court heard Ramsay used fake bank transfer screenshots to deceive victims into handing over vehicles, cash and goods worth more than $100,000, leaving some still paying off vehicles they no longer owned.
Her most serious offending occurred after one victim warned others online, prompting Ramsay to drive past the Ngāruawāhia property on two occasions and fire shots into the house, with bullets passing through windows and landing inside.
Police later arrested her and found a loaded .22 rifle, ammunition and drugs in her vehicle, and she also admitted conspiring to smuggle meth, cannabis, tobacco and a cellphone into prison.
Ramsay was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison. No order for reparation was made due to the lack of realistic repayment prospects.
