Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has declared Ukraine an “enemy,” accusing Kiev of trying to force Hungary to abandon affordable Russian oil and gas supplies.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Szombathely, Orban said Ukraine’s lobbying in Brussels to cut Hungary off from Russian energy directly threatens Hungarian households by risking major increases in utility costs. He warned that as long as Ukraine continues pushing for the move, Hungary cannot view the country as merely a political rival.

Hungary has continued resisting wider EU efforts to phase out Russian energy imports linked to sanctions imposed after the conflict escalated in February 2022.

Orban also repeated his opposition to Ukraine joining the European Union, arguing that deeper economic or military ties with Kiev would create instability. Hungary recently announced plans to challenge the EU in court over a proposed ban on Russian energy, while continuing to refuse weapons shipments to Ukraine and calling for a diplomatic solution. Orban has also warned that further escalation of the conflict could risk triggering a broader war involving NATO and Russia.

    • I wish Putin would become everything they’ve ever accused him of being. Might be the only thing that could actually save Europe at this point.

  1. If Ukraine attacked Hungary would NATO invoke Article 5?
And does economic warfare count? (i.e. cutting off energy supplies.)

  2. Also. Tom. A threat to energy or economic security should be a threat to national strategic security… hence why shutting down Marsden Point is an act of internal sabotage and/or treason.

  3. The NATO proxy Flagship is taking on water
Even though the fast and furious propaganda pumped out 24/7 by western media news outlets would have You think differently in prolonging the war
Just like with the fake ‘Belgian Relief Fund’ used to prolong WW1 for three more unnecessary years – a different type of propaganda which has many veiled faces purposes and intentions
But hopefully this sewer rat Zelensky and His corrupt minions will soon be under water and gone
Hopefully looking over His back for the rest of His useless meaningless life and existence
And to think we sent somebody over there to kiss His rear end
When there was a bit of spare time and Net Nanny had not gone down and failed
Squeaky clean means there’s no mud left
