Poland’s Justice Minister Waldemar Zurek wants President Karol Nawrocki prosecuted for pushing his way into the top court to stop a coup by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Police sent by Tusk have kept the head of the Constitutional Tribunal out of the building since Friday.
The so-called coup was reportedly timed for a weekend when Nawrocki was due to be in Senegal. Nawrocki has called on every party to negotiate an end to the standoff.
While Tusk insisted there could be “no compromise,” two of his three coalition partners have sat down with Nawrocki.
