In a letter dated April 8, 2024, to Chief Judge Swain in New York, Ashley Biden, daughter of President Joe Biden, verified the authenticity of her previously stolen diary.

The diary, which has generated significant public and media interest due to controversial content involving her father, Joe Biden, became a hot topic after excerpts surfaced online.

Ashley Biden’s letter, obtained by the New York Times, was submitted as part of the legal proceedings against Aimee Harris, who was convicted of stealing and selling the personal journal. In her correspondence, Ashley Biden expressed deep distress over the theft and subsequent public release of her private thoughts, describing them as “stream-of-consciousness” reflections meant for personal healing.

She defended the content of her diary, stating it had been “grossly misinterpreted” and falsely used to defame her character and those close to her.

Last month, Aimee Harris, 41, was sentenced by the Department of Justice to a prison term followed by home confinement for her role in the theft and sale of Ashley Biden’s diary. Harris, who is 39 years old, found the diary at a halfway house in Palm Beach in 2020 and sold it to independent media outlet Project Veritas for $40,000.

Ashley Biden had reportedly left the diary under a mattress at the Palm Beach rehab home after a stay at a treatment facility. In a January 2019 entry, Ashley Biden mentioned showering with her father and suggested it may have contributed to a sex addiction.

‘Hyper-sexualized @ a young age. What is this due to? Was I molested. I think so – I can’t remember specifics but I do remember trauma – I remember not liking the woolzacks house; I remember somewhat being sexualized with [a cousin]; I remember having sex with Friends @ a young age; showers w/my dad (probably not appropriate). Being turned on when I wasn’t supposed to be…’

The entire diary, which also details childhood sex trauma, drug abuse and resentment towards her father has been published online by The National File.

James O’Keefe, the founder of Project Veritas, was later subjected to an FBI raid and arrested. US District Judge Analisa Torres, appointed by Obama, ruled that Project Veritas’s First Amendment claims were inconsistent with Supreme Court precedent, stating they couldn’t claim protection for the identity of a confidential source after public guilty pleas.
