Following on from 2 national airplay number one hits in Australia, with ‘Hey Jolene ‘ and ‘That’s What We Do’, comes the much anticipated 3rd single from Country Music Powerhouses ‘Sisters In Country’ ‘My Heart’s Already There’, which is full of rich harmonies and skilfully produced by Jodi Vaughan. “My very good friend and fellow entertainer Kevin Greaves gave me the idea to write this song about being on the road, then heading home, but knowing my heart is already there.
Over the years we have travelled miles and miles and when it is time to head home our hearts are truthfully already there. Touring is always hard being away from family and for me making my way home is the best.
Anyone can relate to this song, as travel is a way of life these days. Recording this song was quite emotional, as both Aly and I have toured leaving our families behind.The good thing is after the trip there is always the welcome home, and best of all knowing before we get home, our hearts are already there”.
October 8th was The Variety Artists Club of New Zealand awards. Recognition was paid to Jodi Vaughan, who received the top award of the night, the prestigious ‘Benny Award’, New Zealand’s oldest and most coveted entertainment award for her 5 decades as a premium entertainer and a New Zealand and household name in Country Music. A very deserving award. Jodi still continues now in her 70’s to write & release chart topping hits, with her most recent album ‘For the Love of Country’ topping the New Zealand official album charts at number 1 and her ‘Sisters in Country’ singles topping the Australian Airplay charts with 2 x #1 hits.
Aly Cook was also awarded a scroll that reads “In recognition of her valued contributions as an award winning musician, songwriter, recording artist, promoter and publicity agent. We celebrate her passion and achievements and thank her for her unwavering dedication to the entertainment industry”

Sisters In Country celebrate Tasmanian Country Music Award Success
October also saw country Music Powerhouses, ‘Sisters In Country’, Jodi Vaughan & Aly Cook, announced as Winners of the prestigious ‘International Artist Of The Year’ Award, for their single ‘Hey Jolene’, at The Tasmanian Independent Country Music Awards. . The awards were held this year at The Tramsheds Function Centre in beautiful Launceston Saturday Night, 14th October 2023.
2023 has been a defining year for Sisters in Country, with their debut single ‘Hey Jolene’ taking out number 1 on the Australian national chart and remaining at the top for 6 weeks. Their second release ‘That’s What We Do’ pocketed number one in Australia for 2 weeks.
