Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, a renowned figure in the streaming world, recently disclosed his diagnosis with melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer.

The 32-year-old, celebrated for his Fortnite gameplay and his substantial following of 19 million on Twitch, shared on X that a mole excised from his foot was cancerous. Blevins is also awaiting results for another suspicious spot, saying he was hopeful thanks to the early detection of his condition.

Ninja encouraged his huge audience to prioritise their health by undergoing regular medical checks.

Having re-established his presence on Twitch in 2020 after a brief tenure with Mixer, Blevins has emerged as a key influencer in the gaming community, even integrating his persona into Fortnite through character skins.

Beyond gaming, Ninja’s fame has propelled him into mainstream media, evident in his participation in The Masked Singer US. His recent health scare originated from a routine visit to a dermatologist, where a concerning mole led to the early identification of melanoma.

Melanoma is known for its aggressiveness and potential to metastasize. Those with pale skin, numerous moles, or a family history of skin cancer are especially urged to be vigilant. While surgery is the primary treatment, advanced stages may need chemotherapy.
