Prominent ufologist and author dies in apparent suicide

Prominent UFO researcher and author David Wilcock has reportedly died aged 53, just days after the death of writer Wynn Free, in a coincidence that has drawn attention online.

According to reports, Wilcock died on April 20, 2026, near Nederland, Colorado. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a 911 call at about 10:44am involving “a man in mental health crisis” outside a residence. Authorities stated the individual was holding a weapon and “used it on himself within minutes of contact,” and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wilcock was a well-known figure in alternative and ufology circles, recognised as a prolific researcher, lecturer and filmmaker. He authored the New York Times bestselling book The Source Field Investigations and co-hosted the series Cosmic Disclosure on Gaia. He also promoted theories involving extraterrestrial contact and advanced aerospace concepts, and previously served as Director of Advanced Technology and a board member at Stavatti Aerospace.

His death follows that of Wynn Free, who co-authored The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce, a book that explores claims linking Wilcock to Edgar Cayce. Free reportedly died in mid-April, with accounts placing his death between April 14 and April 18.

Edgar Cayce, who died in 1945, was an American clairvoyant often referred to as the “Sleeping Prophet” due to his practice of entering trance-like states to deliver readings on health, spirituality and future events. His work attracted a large following and remains influential in spiritual circles.

Wilcock remained a polarising figure, attracting a large following among those interested in esoteric and extraterrestrial topics, while also facing criticism over the nature of his claims.

The timing of the two deaths has prompted discussion across online communities.

  1. Was Wilcock an ‘abductee’???
Did the alien implant in his brain cause the suicide?
Did the Mothership order him to pull the trigger?
Did the nano-tech gel cross the blood/brain barrier?

Goes hand-in-hand with the missing rocket scientists, UFOlogists, etc. that the ‘government’ has only now started to investigate.
