Thousands gathered unclothed on Brisbane’s Story Bridge for a mass art installation led by New York artist Spencer Tunick as part of the Melt Festival, celebrating ‘queer and LGBTQIA+ culture’.
Tunick, known for his large-scale nude photography, choreographed participants in poses symbolising “unity and abstraction”, capturing images against the city’s skyline.
The installation, held on October 27, 2024, transformed the bridge into a canvas for “diversity and inclusion”, continuing Tunick’s tradition of creating art with live nudes at famous landmarks.
Melt Festival also features Tide, an exhibition of Tunick’s work at Brisbane Powerhouse, running until November 10.

Those bloody Ozzies will take their cloths off for anyone. It’s a wonder the bridge didn’t collapse, the crocodiles would’ve had plenty of tucker then.
Indecent exposure? Where are the police? Too busy hassling drug dealers for their cut, I assume.
Too busy scouring social media for little old ladies from Barton who don’t like men in skirts.
