Carlos Tejada, a deputy editor for the New York Times, died earlier this month after receiving a COVID booster shot in South Korea.
49 year old Tejada received a Moderna booster shot on 17 December 2021, having originally had the Johnson & Johnson product back in July.
The case raises two important issues:
- the safety of mixing COVID jabs made by different manufacturers.
- whether Tejada gave true informed consent, given the consent form he signed was in Korean, a language he did not understand.
