Hollywood star Jamie Foxx’s 57th birthday celebration took an unexpected turn when he was injured during an altercation at a Beverly Hills restaurant.
According to his representative, the incident occurred at Mr. Chow, a high-end Chinese eatery, where someone at another table allegedly threw a glass that struck Foxx in the mouth.
Police responded to the scene around 10:10 p.m. following reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, but later determined the reports were unfounded.
Foxx required stitches for his injury and is now recovering, with the matter under law enforcement investigation. The cause of the fight and whether any arrests were made remain unclear.
The incident follows Foxx’s recent disclosure about a serious health scare last year, when he suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
Speaking during a Netflix special, the Oscar-winning actor shared that the medical emergency left him unconscious for 20 days, a condition his family initially described as a “medical complication.”
Known for his acclaimed roles in Ray and Django Unchained, Foxx has a storied Hollywood career spanning decades, with recent appearances in Baby Driver and Netflix projects.
