Nicki Minaj’s gig at Manchester’s new Co-op Live venue was cancelled following her arrest at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport over suspicions of exporting ‘soft drugs’.
Despite being fined and allowed to continue her travels, the disruption led to the postponement of her Saturday evening concert.
Organisers Live Nation assured that tickets would remain valid for a rescheduled date, to be announced soon.
Minaj captured part of her arrest on video and shared it on social media, sparking considerable reaction among fans, some of whom gathered at the venue in supportive chants.
The incident has drawn attention not only due to the arrest but also because of Minaj’s subsequent comments on social media about the legality of cannabis in Amsterdam, highlighting the complexities of local drug policies.
