‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’ takes a playful spin on the Fox series ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?’
The new show invites contestants to tackle elementary school-level questions with a twist – they receive assistance from renowned guest stars.
The host of this celebrity-packed edition is 34-year-old Travis Kelce, known not only for his NFL career, but also for his relationship with pop singer Taylor Swift. Expressing his enthusiasm for game shows, Kelce praised ‘the entertainment value’ of the series.
Having clinched the Super Bowl victory for the third time in February with the Kansas City Chiefs, Kelce is stepping into the spotlight of hosting for the first time.
In this adaptation, adult contestants rely on a panel of celebrity ‘classmates’ to navigate through 11 questions drawn from elementary school curriculum. The objective? A chance to secure a cash prize of $100,000 (£80,300).
Amazon, the streaming platform behind the show, said the contestants aren’t pitted against the celebrities but rather seek their aid, occasionally even resorting to ‘cheating’ off them.
Amazon bosses have approved twenty episodes of the series.
