UK orders emergency recall of popular lollies over ‘DNA-damaging and cancer-causing contaminants’

UK health authorities have issued an urgent recall of several Jolly Rancher brand sweets after discovering they contain harmful mineral oils linked to DNA damage and increased cancer risk.

The Food Standards Agency deemed the American confectionery, including Jolly Rancher hard candies and gummies, “unsafe to eat” due to the presence of Mineral Oil Aromatic Hydrocarbons (MOAH) and Mineral Oil Saturated Hydrocarbons (MOSH), substances banned under British food safety laws.

The contamination poses a particular risk to children and frequent eaters of the lollies.

Retailers must immediately remove all affected products, and consumers are advised to dispose of them and avoid further consumption.

  1. Would avoid both US food and british food. Well, what they call ” food”.
Would not give it even to my dog.
As for my cat it would go on hunger strike…
