The Princess of Wales, Catherine, has shared a positive update on her health, announcing that she will attend Trooping the Colour on Saturday, marking her first public appearance since her cancer diagnosis and abdominal surgery in January.
In a personal message, Catherine revealed that her treatment is still ongoing and will continue for a few more months. She was hopeful but cautious, acknowledging the challenges of chemotherapy with its alternating good and bad days. She was taking each day as it comes and would make the most of her stronger moments.
Accompanied by a new photograph taken near her Windsor home by Matt Porteous, Catherine thanked the public for their support, which she said has been a tremendous help to her and Prince William during difficult times.
She will join the carriage parade with her children and appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the monarch’s birthday celebration.
Although Catherine has started working from home and plans to participate in some events over the summer, Kensington Palace has stressed that her return to full duties will be ‘gradual and flexible’.
