Thai police have arrested 23-year-old George Wilson from Buckinghamshire after allegedly finding 9.1kg of crystal meth hidden in tea-labelled bags inside a Bangkok hotel room.
Authorities say they acted on a tip-off about a planned drug handover and are pressing charges of possessing narcotics for commercial sale.
Video from the scene shows Wilson denying knowledge of the suitcase’s contents.
The UK Foreign Office confirmed it is in contact with Thai authorities, while officials warned of Thailand’s severe penalties for drug offences, including lengthy prison terms.
