19-year-old Christopher Preciado and his father, Ramon Preciado, aged 53, have been arrested and charged in connection with the murders of pregnant Texas teen Savanah Soto and her boyfriend, Matthew Guerra.
The couple were shot and killed in a drug deal gone wrong last month in San Antonio.
Soto, 18, and Guerra, 22, were found dead in their car on December 26, along with their unborn baby. Christopher is charged with capital murder, while Ramon faces charges of abuse of a corpse.
Police believe it was a narcotics-related deal that turned violent. Soto had gone missing on December 22, a day before her scheduled labour induction.
Surveillance footage had previously shown two persons of interest near the crime scene, with one suspect behind the wheel of the victims’ car and the other driving a dark pickup truck.
Preciado junior is accused of killing the victims, while his father allegedly helped move the bodies after their deaths. Soto’s cell phone was crucial in tracing the suspects’ vehicle’s possible location.
Police did not rule out laying additional charges.
