A Houston man, 42-year-old Gonzalo Leon Jr., has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing 11-year-old Julian Guzman, who was playing a “ding-dong ditch” prank and running away from a home when the incident occurred.
Guzman, shot on Saturday, died the following day.
Witnesses reported the child had rung multiple doorbells before fleeing, and police said the shooting did not appear to be self-defense. Leon was initially detained at the scene, later arrested by SWAT, and booked into the Harris County Jail.
