‘Slender Man’ attacker captured after fleeing Wisconsin group home

Illinois police have recaptured Morgan Geyser, the woman convicted in the 2014 ‘Slender Man’ stabbing, after she removed her monitoring bracelet and fled a Wisconsin group home where she had been living under supervised release.

Officers found the 23-year-old at a truck stop in Posen, Illinois, where she initially refused to give her name before telling police to “just Google” her, admitting she had “done something really bad.”

Geyser, who was 12 when she stabbed a classmate 19 times in an attack inspired by the online character Slender Man, was sentenced to 40 years in a mental institution and granted conditional release in July.

She was detained and returned to custody, while a 42-year-old man found with her was charged with trespassing and obstructing identification and later released.
