A Canadian TikToker, known as Dr. Ellie, living in Seoul, Korea is astonished at the size of a 250-gram block of Whittakers chocolate.
Accustomed to smaller chocolate bars in Canada, Dr. Ellie was stunned when a co-worker’s family visiting from New Zealand gifted several massive chocolate blocks. In her video, she exclaimed, “This is half a pound of chocolate!” and questioned if such large portions are normal in New Zealand. Kiwis were quick to clarify in the comments that the blocks are meant for sharing and not for single servings, with some admitting they sometimes eat an entire block themselves.
Dr. Ellie’s revelation about the giant chocolate blocks resonated with many, drawing comparisons to a viral 2023 video by another TikTokker, Haseya, a Californian musician and bartender. He highlighted unique New Zealand items like the lemon, lime, and bitters drink, L&P soft drink, and the beloved savoury pies.

We have had Hersheys, Lindt, Cadbury, etc. and the quality and smoothness cannot be matched to Whittakers.
The few times that there have been mistakes in the manufacturing process, Whittakers goes out of their way to recompense the customers who experienced the adverse event to the tune of no less than gifting the customers over $100 dollars worth of Whittakers Chocolates, with a letter signed by Mr. Whittaker himself!
Now THAT is proper customer service, with good business practices and relations focused on the customers!
Looking forward to a Whittakers dark chocolate with an orange center, similar to the process of the Ghana Mint, and also a dark choc with peanut butter to defeat those expensive and dry Reese’s Cups!
They say that chocolate releases, the same endorphins in the brain as sex.. I’ve had both many times. Whilst I enjoy both, the latter works best.
