The 27-year-old Californian’s lips suffered extreme swelling moments after the procedure.
Burko told her followers in a video that she’d had lip-filler on six previous occasions without incident. It had been a year since her last ‘top-up’ and the offer of a free giveaway was too good to turn down.
But disaster struck when she had a bad reaction in the consultation room after her lips had been injected, as they began to uncontrollably swell to massive size. She posted a video to TikTok showing the damage from her car. At that point she realised it was not normal, and went back to the clinic. They gave her steriods, but she said it just made it worse.
Her lips eventually returned to normal but Burko warned, ‘Never do free cosmetics. But also don’t be scared to get your lips done.’
Later tests showed the clinician had accidentally injected the filler into an artery.
