Residents in an Indiana neighbourhood were stunned when a massive spherical radome—used to shield radar equipment—blew off a nearby aerospace facility and landed on a residential street during a powerful storm Wednesday night.
The dome, which some described as resembling an eyeball, appeared dinged and partially open upon impact. V2X, an aerospace and defense company located about a mile away, confirmed ownership but admitted they were baffled as to how the weatherproof structure became airborne. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the bizarre incident.
