Smart bear escapes Japanese factory after evading capture (Video)

Authorities in Fukushima, Japan, are searching for a bear that escaped from an electronics factory after attacking four people and repeatedly outsmarting capture efforts.

Officials believe the animal, described as unusually intelligent, managed to unlatch and open a window before fleeing overnight. Earlier, the bear had been observed using its paws to turn on a tap for water and had successfully avoided traps by eating bait without triggering them.

Attempts to sedate the animal also failed, while concerns over flammable materials inside the factory prevented police from shooting it.

The escape has prompted a drone search and temporary school closures, with local officials expressing frustration as Japan continues to grapple with a rise in dangerous bear encounters.
