Kroshik, a Russian cat weighing an astounding 17kg and known as the world’s fattest feline, has died despite international efforts to help him lose weight and regain mobility.
Rescued from a hospital basement in Perm, Russia, where he had reportedly been overfed by hospital staff to the point of immobility, the 14-year-old cat was placed on a strict diet at a veterinary centre.
Although vets successfully helped him lose around 3kg, Kroshik’s health declined rapidly over the weekend.
He began choking on Friday, leading to emergency intervention and oxygen support, but he ultimately succumbed to complications from “multiple growths in the spleen and metastases.”
🇷🇺FAT CAT= CUTE CAT
Kroshik, a cat from Perm, has ballooned to 17 kilograms due to overfeeding by his owners.
Rescued by the “Matroskin” shelter, Kroshik was so overweight he could barely walk.
Now, he’s on a tailored rehabilitation program, including underwater treadmill… pic.twitter.com/A9T6zEuxcX

Well that’s just silly.
Overfed by hospital staff, sent to veterinary and died.
Probably should’ve left it in the basement and quit feeding.
It is the new trend ; obesity also among doctors
Jail the owners,absolute idiots.
