Police have laid charges against two people relating to the death of Weymouth toddler Arapera Fia.
As previously reported by Daily Telegraph, Arapera died on 1 November in Starship hospital, having been found earlier with what police consider serious non-accidental injuries.
A 21 year old man has been charged with murder, and a 21 year old woman has been charged with manslaughter.
In a statement released after the arrests Detective Warrick Adkin said: ‘I want to acknowledge Arapera’s whānau who have cooperated and assisted Police throughout this investigation. I also want to acknowledge those within our community who came forward with information.’
