Police were alerted this afternoon after a body was discovered in the water near Raglan.
A member of the public reported seeing the person from a nearby footbridge at 2:25 p.m.
Although formal identification has not yet been completed, police believe the deceased is a 31-year-old Hamilton man who was reported missing last week.
Police have expressed their condolences to the man’s family and loved ones. Police will continue investigating the circumstances of the death on behalf of the Coroner.
