Police were notified at around 3:15pm that a helicopter assisting with a search in the area had located a body.
While the formal identification process is yet to be completed, it is believed to be the man who was swept into the river earlier in the afternoon.
“Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this tragic time”, said police in a statement.
