Rishi Sunak and ex-PM Boris Johnson shared a laissez-faire attitude toward the coronavirus pandemic, according to Patrick Vallance.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak wanted the government to “just let people die” rather than impose a second national lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic, London’s former chief scientific adviser, Patrick Vallance, told the government’s official Covid-19 inquiry on Monday.
Neither Sunak, who was chancellor at the time, nor then-PM Boris Johnson were in favour of closing the economy again and compounding the financial ruin wrought by the first lockdown, according to Vallance’s diaries, which the scientist kept as a sanity-preserving exercise during the pandemic.
“Rishi thinks just let people die and that’s ok. This all feels like a complete lack of leadership,” he wrote in a diary entry dated October 25, 2020 seen by the inquiry, which is tasked with probing the government’s response to the pandemic.
Sunak reportedly made the comment during a meeting with Johnson and his senior adviser, Dominic Cummings, who in turn relayed his words to Vallance. Cummings was in favour of a lockdown, reasoning it was best to “do it sooner rather than later,” even as Johnson resisted. Vallance lamented the “complete lack of leadership” from 10 Downing.
Vallance’s diaries also alleged that Sunak had failed to consult scientists regarding his controversial ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ campaign aimed at jump-starting Britain’s restaurant economy after the first lockdown, despite “obvious” risks.
While Vallance insisted that the scheme was “quite likely” to have increased the number of Covid-19 infections, Sunak claimed in a written submission to the inquiry that he did not recall any objections to the policy at the time. However, it earned him the nickname ‘Dr. Death’ from Angela McLean, then-chief scientific adviser to the Defense Department.
Vallance denounced Johnson’s own approach to the pandemic as “bonkers,” describing the prime minister as “obsessed with older people accepting their fate and letting the young get on with life and the economy going.” Johnson had initially argued against locking down the UK over the coronavirus prior to falling ill himself and was said to have called the virus “nature’s way of dealing with old people.”
Sunak’s spokesman declined to answer reporters’ questions on Monday regarding whether he had made the controversial comment or consulted scientists, promising to address both issues when the prime minister is summoned to give evidence before the inquiry.
Johnson announced the UK Covid-19 Inquiry in 2021 and hearings began earlier this year. Set to run through 2026, it aims to examine related issues including pandemic preparedness, lockdowns, vaccine mandates, and other public health interventions, home and hospital care, and associated financial programs. Covid-19 allegedly ‘contributed’ to the deaths of more than 220,000 people in the UK and had a devastating effect on its economy through lockdowns.
Shutting down entire countries and devastating millions of people economically for decades to come, over an illness with a 99% survival rate was (and will always remain) a terrible strategy, no matter how badly this fake inquiry wants to spin it as “they wanted people to die 😱”.
Johnson and Sunak are globalist imbeciles who I absolutely won’t defend, but this line of rhetoric is just a continuation of the lies that led us all the way to vaccine mandates, Soviet style quarantine camps and irrational hypochondriacs wearing face masks alone in their cars (something that persists to this day 🤦🏼)
This inquiry is clearly not an inquiry at all, but merely another exercise in covering their gluteus maximus.

There is a rumour that covid wasn’t an accident, another financial crash was imminent and it was preempted by the pandemic and lockdown and was defused by massive QE. We seem to have a GFC every 12 or so years so it is no surprise that they tell us another pandemic is imminent.

Bozo and Rishi were half right. Things should have stayed open. Old people should not have been written off though. There were far better treatments than those used and, the vulnerable population should have been protected properly if they desired. Eg, Pay carers well to stay with their patients full time/for long stints until the fit and healthy had buillt up immunity for one thing.
The inquiry is a big waste of money. None of the muppets will face any consequence. Running until 2026! The only thing that will come from it is more dumb restrictions/actions the next time round.

It’s hard to make sense of many things due to the sheer volume of lies and BS that we’re all over the place during that time period.
There WAS an actual virus yes, there’s a mountain of evidence of what went down in the Wuhan lab etc. And a lot of people legitimately DID become severely ill (I myself was almost bedridden with the worst flu I’ve ever experienced in October 2019, shortly before they’d even started talking about it. Also had it in 2021).
Having said that though, it doesn’t negate that much of what the first anon above is saying. Again, the virus had a 99% survival rate, so nowhere near the “deadly pandemic” they all wanted it to be and claimed it was. The powers that be and their media minions legitimately DID exaggerate and conflate Covid figures with ordinary colds and flu for maximum shock/propaganda value. Doctors WERE legitimately blackmailed and threatened if they did not comply with the new protocol and promote the wonderful and amazing vaccines. Governments DID sign secret deals with big pharma companies and grant them legal indemnity for any adverse effects their wonderful new product might cause. Ample, AUTHENTICATED evidence for these events all over the place.
Whether there was or wasn’t a virus is almost negligible at this point, what followed WAS legitimately an open hoax and what was perpetrated by the so-called elites against ordinary citizens WAS criminal in nature.
