Police updates – Naenae victim named, serious crashes Te Puke and Rotorua

Police updates on crimes and investigations for 22 November 2023.

Update: Serious Crash, Amohau St, Rotorua

Police can now confirm one person has died following a two-vehicle crash on the intersection of Amohau Street and Tutanekai Street yesterday morning.

The collision involved a motorbike and mobility scooter.

Sadly, the driver of the mobility scooter died at the scene.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

Name release – Naenae fatal hit and run

Police can now release the name of the woman who died in a hit and run in Naenae last Thursday.

She was 62-year-old Anita Rani of Naenae.

Police continue to support Anita’s family at this difficult time.

An investigation is ongoing and Police continue to appeal for information.

Update: Serious Crash, Te Puke

Police can now advise one person has died following a single-vehicle crash on No 3 Road yesterday.

Sadly, they passed away at the scene and another person was transported to hospital in a critical condition.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
