Drag performers sue Brian Tamaki and Destiny Church for defamation

Rainbow Storytime news

Destiny Church leader Brian Tamaki and his organisation are being sued for defamation by two drag performers in the High Court in Auckland.

The performers, Sunita Torrance (stage name Coco Flash) and Daniel Lockett (Erika Flash), along with their event company Haus of Flash, are seeking over $2 million in damages.

They allege Tamaki and the church have launched numerous attacks against their Rainbow Storytime events, accusing them of child grooming and being part of a satanic movement.

The performers claim these actions have led to cancelled shows and significant harm to their business, prompting them to pursue legal action for inducing breach of contract, conspiracy to injure and defamation.

In a media statement Tamaki denied being formally served with any legal papers and criticised the legacy media for supporting the performers’ crowdfunding efforts. He said that the church would continue advocating for children’s wellbeing and expressed readiness for a potential court case.

In the media statement, Tamaki expressed deep concern over the influence of R18+ adult entertainers and groomers, specifically criticising the presence of drag queens in libraries, viewing it as part of a broader issue affecting the country’s moral fabric.

“We are promoting and protecting our innocent kids from sexual predators, and you have political leaders, finance ministers and MPs throughout all of these parties spending multi-millions on funding the sexualisation of our kids. Well, this is war…Parents vs Perversion and Politicians,” Tamaki said.

“I believe a lot of good, commonsense Kiwis are on my side with this issue.”

“How has New Zealand arrived at this point, in such a terrible situation with twisted people targeting our innocent children, even toddlers? The naked videos of these entertainers online are appalling. These are not the role models we want in front of our children. This is why this country is in a mess,” he said.

  1. What sort of parent in their right mind would expose their children to this filth and depravity?
Plenty by the look of it
    Very sick weirdos

  2. Harm to their business? What business? They have only been operating since august 2022. I’d like to see their annual accounts for the year aug 2022-august 2023. The money they raise on give a little will probably exceed their earnings anyway so what’s the point? Anyway at least they will have to prove damage to their business for the court case so we will be able to see just how much these weirdos were being paid by our councils 😂😂😂 own goal right there.

As for lies, what lies? That lots of people think it’s sick and disturbing that childless people dressed in drag, normally reserved for cabarets and adult entertainment, are insisting on infiltrating toddler time in public libraries to warp the minds and confuse toddlers and small children? FFS what’s wrong with hairy Mac Leary and cat in the hat? Why bring this sort of adult themed “entertainment” to children’s spaces and WHY as ratepayers should we be paying for this crap? I for one am not happy my rates would go towards this.

If they want to do drag shows – then hire a private venue and sell tickets – then let’s see what sort of business they have.

In the meantime – leave the kids alone.

  3. The court will rule in their favour (of course), and the mainstream media NPC’s will swoon over how stunning and brave they are. They’ll all gloat and rub yet another rigged victory in all our faces.

Except it’s not the victory they think it is. Public anger is starting to boil, has been for a long time now. And our tolerance is wearing thin, especially where our children are concerned.

Keep pushing us, guys. Keep it right up 👍
