Ex-Destiny Church member appears in court on indecent assault charges

A 29-year-old former Destiny Church member appeared in Manukau District Court this morning, facing multiple charges of indecent assault against two victims.

The man has interim name suppression and sat quietly in the dock during his first appearance.

According to a report in state media, tensions rose outside the courtroom when a young man was heard shouting at the accused as he left.

The man was remanded on bail and is scheduled to appear in court again on 24 June.
