Five people have been arrested on serious drugs charges, with one person charged with 30 offences, after a series of search warrants across Marlborough.
Operation Aisling saw Marlborough and Nelson Bays Organised Crime Units working together, with assistance from the Offender Prevention Team, in a District-wide operation to find and take enforcement action against those who procure and sell drugs in the area.
On 21 July, three search warrants were executed in relation to the supply of the class A controlled methamphetamine and the class B controlled drug fantasy.
“A 38-year-old woman was arrested in Blenheim and was due appear in Blenheim District Court on 22 July today, charged with 30 offences including possession of GBL for supply and possession of methamphetamine for supply”, said Detective Sergeant Lisa Brent.
“A 42-year-old man was arrested in Spring Creek and charged with 11 offences including importation of fantasy and dealing methamphetamine. He was also due to appear in court today.
“Another male at the same address was charged with possessing cocaine. He is due appear in the Blenheim District Court on 16 September.”
Yesterday police executed three more search warrants.
“One warrant in Picton saw a 60-year-old woman being charged with possession for supply of methamphetamine and dealing methamphetamine.
“She is due to appear in Blenheim District Court tomorrow, 23 July.
“Another search warrant in Blenheim with a 35 year old male being arrested and charged with 17 offences including offering to supply methamphetamine x 5, supply methamphetamine, offers to supply cannabis, possession for supply methamphetamine, deal methamphetamine, possess fantasy, and possession of methamphetamine for supply.
“Police have no tolerance for this type of offending, and we continue to collaborate and investigate the importation and supply of illicit drugs and substances in the Marlborough area.
“Investigations will continue, and Police do not rule out further arrests.
