The Green Party’s Geordie Rogers has won the by-election for the Pukehīnau / Lambton General Ward of Wellington, filling the vacancy left by Tamatha Paul on the Wellington City Council.
Paul left her seat to take up her new role as the Wellington Central Seat representative following her win in the last General Election.
According to a report in State-funded media outlet RNZ Rogers defeated Karl Tiefenbacher, an independent candidate and local entrepreneur.
Initial results released on Saturday afternoon had Tiefenbacher in the lead by 621 votes. Yet, the gap narrowed to 164 votes after the final-day votes were counted that evening, with special votes pending validation and tallying.
Following the complete count of all votes, Rogers has been officially announced as the winner of the election.
…and to finish up an absolute taniwha of a day, I’d like to welcome our newest colleague @grogersxyz to Wellington City Council.
Congratulations, e hoa. pic.twitter.com/wstKvokXql

another hypnotized globalist marxist clown.
Another Green who is most likely vaccinated so it won’t be long.
One can but hope. Oh, how callous this sounds, granted, but I’m having a hard time accepting these woke greenies into local council.
