Hikoi lane closures on Auckland Harbour Bridge expected to impact morning traffic

The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) has announced two northbound lanes on the Auckland Harbour Bridge will close later this morning due to the Hikoi protest.

Four southbound lanes will remain open, but delays are expected, particularly during peak morning hours. The closures, according to NZTA, are to “ensure the safety of hīkoi participants and road users.”

Both directions of traffic are likely to experience delays, but NZTA assures that lanes will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so. Commuters are advised to plan for potential congestion during the morning rush.

NZTA:

“Expect some lane and ramp closures due to the national hikoi on SH1 Northern Mwy and Harbour Bridge, Wednesday 13 November from approx. 8.30am. Northbound closures include: Stafford Rd off-ramp, Curran St on-ramp, and two northbound lanes on the Harbour Bridge. Southbound closures include: Shelly Beach Rd off-ramp. This will affect morning peak traffic in both directions. Allow extra time for journeys and share the road with care.”

  1. Meanwhile all the hard working New Zealnders including those of Maori descent, will be busy contributing to society at their place of employ, well the ones that managed to get to work on time before being held up in traffic.
And I do wonder where do they go to the loo? maybe they have a portaloo truck in tow as there must be truckloads of junk food being consumed on the journey, or are they all carrying woven flax baskets full of Kai and Rongoa to honour their culture, or maybe just utilise the convenience of colonial corporate fast food giants like old Colonel Sanders the misogynistic white supremist racist? Maybe some of them have just been hypnotised by the hypocritical narcissists on TV news. Yeah nah or Nah yeah.

  2. Amazing how much dole money was spent on this March. Instead of being productive and useful , they. Keep showing their true side. It’s time we did too. Stop the bs . Call dole bludger to look for work not this bs. Time for us to revolt.
