Former Justice Minister Kiri Allan has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a car crash in Wellington last July.
Allan admitted to careless driving and failing to accompany a police officer, following her collision with a parked vehicle on Evans Bay Parade.
Initially denying the latter charge based on being denied access to a lawyer, Allan resolved the issue before her trial, leading to her sentencing in the Wellington District Court. She was fined and ordered to pay reparations for the damage caused, with the court acknowledging her ’emotional state’ at the time of the incident.
Allan, who did not attend the hearing, had faced similar charges over two decades ago. Following the crash, she did not seek re-election and has since begun a new career as a ‘campaign manager’.
Queer, Maori, Bully, Drunk, Woman, Communist, hail the new untouchable elites.
Allan faced similar charges over two decades ago and then become minister of justice? Right then.
