Lady June Hillary, the widow of Sir Edmund Hillary, has passed away at the age of 92.
Renowned for her significant contributions to the Nepalese community in New Zealand, Lady Hillary served as the Honorary Consul-General of Nepal to New Zealand and was a dedicated patron of the New Zealand Nepal Society. Her efforts were pivotal in fostering cultural appreciation and strengthening ties between New Zealand and Nepal.
Dinesh Khadka, the Honorary Consul of Nepal for Auckland, expressed deep condolences, praising her passionate advocacy and the enduring impact of her compassion and dedication on the community.
I am currently reading View from the Summit by Sir Ed and recommend it highly.
Behind every great man is a great woman, rolling her eyes 🙄😆
RIP Mrs Hillary, hope you’re both enjoying the view from up there.
RIP, she lived in a better New Zealand than the one we know today…great age too……….
