Cantona slams Ratcliffe’s impact on Manchester United

Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has accused Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos Group of “destroying” the club following their acquisition of a 27.7% stake in February 2024.

Although the Glazer family remains majority owners, Ineos now controls football operations and has implemented cost-cutting measures, including ticket price hikes and staff redundancies.

Cantona criticised the club’s direction, plans to demolish Old Trafford, and the upcoming departure of Sir Alex Ferguson as global ambassador.

Speaking at fan-founded FC United, Cantona lamented the loss of United’s soul and said he would not choose the club as a fan today.
